Some friends from afar were in town this week with their two sweet girls, so we threw a few snacks together early one morning and headed to the ferry docks. The island was cool and calm, school still being in and all, so our pack had free run of the place with nary a crowd or line-up to be lost in.There were treats, rides, and even a rouge peacock.
I do love an island day. This year it marks the start of carefree summer days, impromptu trips, late nights, and bare feet. And of course, it has the added bonus of littles falling into bed exhausted, while visions of Ferris wheels dance in their heads.
How about you? What’s kicking off your summer fun?
